John is a Clinical Psychologist with a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology obtained from Deakin University in 2010. He has over 10 years’ experience in the public mental health sector, working with adolescents and young adults experiencing complex mental illness, and their families. Since 2014, he has also devoted some of his clinical time to working with adolescent and adult clients in a private practice setting.
John provides evidence-based psychological therapies that are tailored to each client’s individual needs and readiness for change. His approach utilises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Mindfulness and Motivational Interviewing techniques; and is informed by an interest in psychodynamic principles. He offers a collaborative, non-judgmental, culturally sensitive and family inclusive approach.
John works with clients aged 16 years and older and has a particular interest in the following areas:
- Mood & Anxiety disorders
- Interpersonal difficulties
- Grief, loss and adjustment issues
- Trauma
